Humanitarian and ecological disaster in West Papua
West Papua is one of the last great frontier wildernesses. Over 250 distinct indigenous communities live amongst spectacular rainforests, mountains and coral ecosystems. But all is not well on the world’s second largest island – which now serves as a backdrop to one of the most severely underreported conflicts in recent history. Officially a ‘special’ autonomous region of Indonesia, indigenous Papuans have been visciously fighting for independence since the 1960s, whilst big business and a ruthless Indonesian military seek to bolster their global economic standing by exploiting the territory’s immense reserve of natural resources.
Foreign journalists have been controversially banned from West Papua since 2004, so reporting on human rights abuses and environmental destruction has been severely limited. Yet Amnesty International estimates that between 100,000 and 400,000 Papuans have been killed since Indonesia took control of the territory in 1969. (reports by activists suggest a death toll higher than 500,000) West Papua remains a militarized zone, allowing the Indonesian army to reap enormous profits from lucrative agreements with timber, mining and palm oil companies, while ruthlessly suppressing local people. The resources flow out to markets in the US & Canada, Europe, Australia and China.
I traveled undercover to West Papua in June this year where I found desperately poor communities deep in the forest that had been coerced into selling their land for as little as US$1 a hectare. I flew over islands scarred by nickel mines, in what is the richest marine environment on the planet. We saw sediment flowing freely into coral reefs and visited communities in conflict, as nickel mining interests battle for concessions. We witnessed firsthand the outcomes of migration, from rampant prostitution in the industrial port of Sorong to evidence of an alarming AIDS epidemic.

So, there are just a few ideas of places that are way better than this wild country. Supermoon set to light up night sky.
The night sky is set to be illuminated later by what will appear to be a much bigger and brighter Moon.
A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon's disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The term "supermoon" is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology. The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. However, the evidence of such a link is widely held to be unconvincing.
The next occurrence will be on June 23, 2013. This full moon will be the closest and largest full moon of the year. It also presents the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013. The moon will not be so close again until August 10, 2014.
They occur about once every 14 full moons in a full moon cycle.
Full moon falls on June 23, 2013 at 11:32 UTC (6:32 a.m. CDT in the U.S.). Thus, for many, the moon appears about as full in the June 22 evening sky as it does on the evening of June 23. This full moon is not only the closest and largest full moon of the year. It also presents the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013. The moon will not be so close again until August, 2014. In other words, it’s not just a supermoon. It’s the closest supermoon of 2013.

Sheriff's Bust Legal Pot-Grower-Must Pay Back $210,000
A man jurors acquitted of multiple marijuana felonies has sued the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office after his 42 plants were destroyed, according to a lawsuit recently filed in 8th Judicial District Court.
Denver lawyer Rob Corry said his client expects to receive $5,000 per plant (totaling $210,000), based on what law enforcers have testified a marijuana plant is worth, in addition to attorney fees.
Kaleb Young, 34, had been growing the plants in a Wellington home in compliance with Colorado’s medical marijuana laws and during a warrant search in September 2010 had shown deputies paperwork authorizing him to do so, according to the lawsuit.
Young was arrested, and his plants, raw marijuana and equipment were among items taken during the search. He had been under surveillance for five months after deputies followed up on a tip, according to filings in the criminal court case.
The case went to trial, and Young was acquitted of all charges in November 2011.

Mosque destroyed in 'racist attack'
An Islamic centre in north London has been destroyed by a fire in an apparent racially motivated attack.
The Met Police said the fire, which happened at the Al-Rahma Islamic Centre in Muswell Hill in the early hours, is being treated as suspicious.

So you’re living in the UK and dream of giving your dog’s genes a chance to live on in a cloned body? One South Korean firm is willing to offer a 70 per cent discount if you pose for the cameras and are not expecting them to copy the personality too.
The firm, Sooam Biotech, has been commercially cloning pets for years, with the majority of its customers coming from the US. The task is currently priced at $100,000, but the winner will receive a considerable slash from that tag. Contenders are encouraged to send a 500-word essay along with photos, videos of up to 5 minutes, and other material explaining why their dog should be cloned.
There are no restrictions on the breed, sex, size or age of the dog, but the winner must be prepared for the media appearances that would come into his or her life, along with the furry clone. Submissions are accepted until July 1.

Last year it announced its plans to recreate a woolly mammoth by extracting the extinct animal’s DNA from frozen samples and incubating an embryo in an elephant surrogate mother.
Pet cloning remains an ethically-controversial and niche business. Critics say that rich people who spend thousands of dollars on cloning their pets should instead help animal shelters and adopt a new pet from one of those. There is also the implication that cloning firms are misleading their clients, because the technology can offer replication of the body, while the behavior of the cloned pet may differ markedly from that of the original.
"I think that personality is really what most people are looking to clone," John Woestendiek, a dog cloning investigator and author, told Live Science. "And I don't think personality is clone-able."
Pet cloning may enjoy high media attention, but the market for it is surprisingly small, according to BioArts International, a US-based company that outsourced pet cloning to Sooam Biotech before going out of business in 2009.
Just like Sooam in UK, BioArts promoted its services in America with a 2008 competition offering free cloning. It received 237 applications, the firm said, eventually awarding the privilege to a rescue dog which had reportedly found the last survivor of the 2001 terrorist attack in New York

Sodium Fluoride and the Third Eye
Fluoride is very harmful to your Pineal Gland (third eye chakra), which many consider to be (the seat of the soul) and the link to your multi-dimensional self. The importance of this gland can be seen in ancient cultures around the entire world. One of the theories of water fluoridation is that its original intention is to not only make you sick (slowly), but block the proper functioning of this gland. Ways to Remove Fluoride from Water
Reverse Osmosis Filtration
This is used to purify several types of bottled water (not all), so some bottled waters are unfluoridated. Reverse osmosis systems are generally unaffordable for personal use.
Activated Alumina Defluoridation Filter
These filters are used in locales where fluorosis is prevalent. They are relatively expensive (lowest price I saw was $30/filter) and require frequent replacement, but do offer an option for home water filtration.
Distillation Filtration
There are commercially available distillation filters that can be purchased to remove fluoride from water. On a related note: When looking at bottled water, keep in mind that 'distilled water' does not imply that a product is suitable for drinking water and other undesirable impurities may be present.
Brita, Pur, and most other filters- These Do NOT Remove Fluoride::
Some websites about fluoride removal state otherwise, but I checked the product descriptions on the companies' websites to confirm that fluoride is left in the water.http://
